Auto Message After Call permissions and the data it uses

Auto Message After Call permissions are listed here one by one, with the reason each is needed and whether you can say no.

Short answer

Auto Message After Call permissions cover call state, contacts, notifications and background running; Accessibility is optional, and call logs and SMS sending are never requested.

To send a WhatsApp message when a call ends, the app has to know that a call ended, what number it was, and whether that number is a saved contact. It gets the first two from the phone state, not from the call log, and reads contacts to fill in names and to skip saved contacts when you ask it to. It needs to keep running in the background and to show reminder pop-ups over other apps. Auto-send through the Accessibility service is optional and limited to WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. The app does not request call log access, does not have permission to send SMS, does not record calls, and removes the advertising ID permission.

FAQ

Auto message after call permissions FAQ

Does Auto Message After Call read my call log?

No. It never requests call log access. It learns that a call ended, and the number, from the phone state at the moment the call happens.

Why does it need access to my contacts?

To put the caller name into your message and to skip saved contacts when you turn on Exclude All Contacts.

Is the Accessibility permission safe?

In this app it is optional, off by default and limited to WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, where it only presses Send on the message the app prepared.

Can the app read my WhatsApp chats?

The Accessibility service is configured for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business only, and the app uses it to press Send in the chat it just opened for your message.

Why does Android show a scary warning for Accessibility?

Android warns about every Accessibility service because, in general, such services can see screen content. The warning is standard and appears for all apps.

Does it record my calls?

No. There is no call recording in the app.

Can it send SMS without me knowing?

No. It has no permission to send SMS. It can only open your SMS app with a message ready for you to send.

Why does it ask to ignore battery optimisation?

So Android does not put it to sleep. A sleeping app cannot notice that a call ended, and the message never goes out.

Why does it need to draw over other apps?

To show follow-up reminders as a pop-up on top of whatever you are using, so a promised callback is not missed.

Why is there a phone call permission?

For the call-back buttons on the Last Call widget and on reminders. The app never calls anyone by itself.

What data is uploaded to the server?

Your account number, your templates and attachments, and a record of messages sent through the app, so they sync to your account and team.

Does the app show ads or track me for advertising?

No ads, and the advertising ID permission is removed from the app.

Which third parties process data?

Google for analytics, crash reports, notifications and billing, and WappBlaster servers for your account. Optional API campaigns also go through the provider you configure.

Can I withdraw a permission later?

Yes, from Android Settings, Apps, Auto Message After Call, Permissions. Features that need that permission stop until you allow it again.

How do I ask for my data to be deleted?

Email info@wappblaster.com with your registered mobile number and ask about deleting your account data.
