Motorola battery optimization settings for Auto Message After Call

Motorola battery optimization limits apps in the background; turning it off for Auto Message After Call lets the app notice every call end on a Moto phone.

Motorola phones run software close to standard Android, so the battery controls look much like Google's. Motorola's own help pages explain that turning off battery optimisation for an app lets it run when you are not using it, even with Adaptive Battery on, and that the other apps should normally stay optimised. That is the right balance for Auto Message After Call. On recent Moto phones the per-app control sits in the app's settings under App battery usage, where Unrestricted removes the limits. Older models used a list called Battery optimization, reached from Special app access, where you choose the app and select Don't optimize. Some older Motorola software also had an App standby optimizer with its own don't optimise options. Whichever your phone shows, change it for this one app only, then make a test call while the phone is idle to confirm the message still goes out.
